My husband asked me "did you really want to be a cowgirl when you grew up"? I answered "ya' bet I did!". But, I think it was called a horse trainer. But the fears of not being able to have a family or have a somewhat balanced life while being a horse trainer scared me away onto another desired path... design work.
When I was young, I would draw (yep, no computers) up flyers and ads and actually send them out to other horse trainers. One in the arabian horse circuit owned an advertising agency in Arizona. He wrote me back (yep, snail mail) a very encouraging reply to my flyer that I created and told me that if I ever got into advertising to look him up. Well, I did go into desiging ads, but never had the opportunity to move to Arizona. But, I was forever transformed in my thinking that God possibly gave me another gift... design.
For the past 20 years, I've been creating, designing, daydreaming and envisioning layouts, images and pictures.
Even through our four kids, I've kept my design eye and work. For the past almost five years, I've worked in the Communications Department @ Whittier Area Community Church as a graphic/web designer.
